Bears come in many different colors, shape, and sizes and they live all over the world, except Antarctica and Australia. Their habitats range from the snowy northern tundra to dense rainforests and high mountains. Brown/grizzly bears are found from the islands of southeastern Alaska to the arctic. Black bears inhabit most of North America's forests. Polar bears frequent the pack ice and tundra of extreme northern and western Alaska.
Most species of bears live to around 25 years of age. Bears are curious, intelligent and potentially dangerous animals.
